Valve’s DotA 2: Sequel’s New Features

For those of you who have been waiting for Valve to announce the sequel to DotA, then you will be happy to know that Dota 2 is coming. It has been said that all of the WarCraft 3 mods will be coming back to the second game along with over one hundred heroes. However, the best part is how the developer will bring in a social media element.
JoyStiq has been looking more into this latest news from Game Informer, and has learned that Valve is to update its Steamworks system; this will be custom to the game. However, one new feature that we believe will be of benefit to the player is how there is to be a new in-game coaching system, which even comes with voice chat.
That and a host of other new features should help to make DotA more appealing to a larger audience to RTS games. The one drawback is the fact that there is still only one map, but new match types should be added at a later date.
Valve knows that one of the most important areas to update is graphics, so you can understand why Valve has hired a huge art team? There is no definite release date yet, all we know is it will be some time in 2011.
