Redsn0w 0.9.6 for Windows: Jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G

Owners of the iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G can now get Redsn0w 0.9.6 for Windows. This will allow you to jailbreak iOS 4.1 on your device.

Taimur Asad of Redmond Pie is reporting that if you have an iPhone 3G that relies on Ultrasn0w unlock don’t download Redsn0w. This is because it updates your baseband to the latest version, which for the time being makes it impossible to unlock.

Owners are advised to do this jailbreak at their own risk only. This download is a beta release for the devices at FW 4.0 or 4.1, and it has the same pwnage2 DFU-mode exploit which has been used since the 2.x days. The SHAtter exploit developed by pod2g is not included in the download.

Those of you who have the iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4G, iPad, and Apple TV 2G will have to wait until Sunday to jailbreak iOS 4.1 when GreenPois0n is released.

      I tryed redsn0w on my iPod touch 2nd gen on 4.1 it worked perfectly I had cydia but my wifi stopped working has they been another update to fix this problem? As I carnt use greenpoison or anything to jb my iPod touch

      My touch 2G MC stucked on "waiting for reboot". Tried everything, xp computer, closer USB port, plug/unplug… Anything else to try?

      Despite their claim that this works on 2G MC models.. it DOES NOT. Its broken and they know it. Theyll just keep fucking everyone over who updates to 4.1 and then cant go back and cant JB. Well done redsnow team. At least put a 1 liner on your page.

      Hopefully Geo or Dev team will release the 2G MC fix soon, they say its coming…
