Nokia MeeGo Smartphones: Intel Claim 2011 Release not 2010

A few days ago we heard how the VP who was in charge of Nokia’s MeeGo Devices had resigned, we were assured that this resignation would not affect the launch of MeeGo-based devices, now Intel are claiming that we won’t see MeeGo devices until 2011.
Nokia are keeping suspiciously quiet about their Linux-based mobile operating system, however the same cannot be said about Intel, recently an Intel VP said that MeeGo phones are currently under development, but you will have to wait until 2011 to handle them, perhaps at a large industry trade show.
The only large industry trade show I can think of is Mobile World Congress 2011, this event takes place in Barcelona and starts on February 14th 2011, so it may well be where we first start seeing MeeGo-based smartphones and tablets.
In our last MeeGo-related post we told you that Nokia will be announcing an update on Meego by the end of the year, perhaps they will reveal that MeeGo will debut at the Mobile World Congress 2011 Expo, we will have to wait and see.
