For those of you who are already looking forward to the next generation iPhone device, we have gathered information on a brand new handset from Sharp which you might want to pay attention to.
As reported from RedmondPie, the phone is known only by it’s IS03 model name so far and it is due for release onto the Japanese market soon.
The IS03 is an Android based handset and carries with it some monster specs. These include a 3.5-inch 960 x 640 resolution capacitive touchscreen display with Advanced Super View technology, which is thought to be similar to Apple’s IPS Retina Screen technology.
We often groan when maufacturers continue to put 5 megapixel sensors on the latest smartphones, but we have no complaints about the IS03, it will come packed with a mighty 9.6 megapixel camera.
The screen resolution is particularly nice, seeing as it tops the usual 800 (854) x 600 resolutions that are seen on the likes of the Nexus One, HTC Desire HD and Samsung Galaxy S. Other features of the IS03 include a built-in digital TV tuner and something called ‘Osaifu Keitai’, which will allow you to make direct payments for goods on your phone while on the move – I like it.
Don’t be surprised if Apple take ideas from this Sharp handset when building the iPhone 5. I’d love to have a handset like that in these shores – what about you?
