Adidas Cancels iAd Contract: Steve Jobs a control freak
By: Peter Chubb | October 4, 2010 | Leave a CommentThe Adidas iAd deal with Apple is now off, it is believed that the technology company tried to assert too much control over the $10 deal. The brand with three stripes put three ideas to Apple, all of which had been rejected.
According to an article on Business Insider, mobile industry executives allegedly said that, “Apple CEO Steve Jobs was being too much of a control freak,” something that we are unable to confirm.
This is not the first time that a company has not been happy with the constraints that Apple put on them, but losing Adidas is a huge deal – what with the love affair that consumers have with the originals range brought back from the 80’s.
Usually with ads the likes of Adidas has a huge say in the process, but Apple likes to have more control over quality, such as making the iAds themselves. It is for this reason that the new service has got off to a slow start, could this way of thinking come back to bite Apple?
