Earlier last month dating website Plenty of Fish was down with server problems; who would have thought that more than 200 comments would come to us on this issue? For those of you who have never taken these kinds of websites serious enough in the past, then you should, as it has made the list of the Top 100 Most Valuable Internet Startups.
According to Tris Hussey from The Next Web, Plenty Of Fish was in at number 84, which may not sound to high, but it is a great start for such a service. It is no secret what sites were in sites were in the top ten (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.), and rightly so.
PlentlyofFish was founded back in 2003, and since then has been run from Vancouver, Canada. There are those who thought that this online dating service would never take off, but founder and CEO, Markus Frind has proven a number of those critics wrong.
Markus had the idea of having a dating service that did not need too much human interaction to run it, and with just him running things from the start. The biggest difference with PoF and other dating sites is that this one is free, it is the ads on the site that help pay for the service.
