Why is the headline "Similac Recall 2010: List of Formula Products Not Affected" when there is no list to be found? This page was no help in finding out if I need to return my son's formula.

  • Amber

Alimentum and other specialty cans were not affected your son being sick is a mere coincedence. I hope he gets better soon though.

Congrats Abbott, you just lost this costumer and I'm sure thousands of others with your complete disregard for the safety and health of our babies ("just an upset stomach", what a joke). Before you go ahead and frighten thousands of parents like this you may in the future want to make sure your website is working so that they can get the informtation. Idiots!

No offense to any of you but recalls happen all the time. It happens. Everything has been recalled at one time or another. Cars are recalled, yet you still drive them. Food is recalled, yet you still eat it. When you go to a restaurant, you wouldn't know it but you are most likely consuming a product that has been recalled in the past. It is an inconvenience but its not worthy of the ridiculous things people have been saying about the company. To tell you the truth, your kids will eat more bugs in their lifetime on purpose than they will consume from powdered formula. And LOL to the idea of a class action suit. Good luck with that one. Overreacting seems to be all that is going on here. I've got a newborn that drinks the same formula, which is on the recalls list, but there is nothing we can do about it. If your formula is affected, exchange it! Get over it and switch brands if you feel that they don't do what they can to create a healthy product for your children. If you don't know if your formula is recalled because you are too impatient to wait on hold or wait for a web page to load, exchange all the formula you have for something different and be done with it. If it is an open can, throw it away! Its $11. Not going to break the bank here people. This is what is wrong with the world…people don't stop and consider everything before starting a freak out.

Well said. My newborn is on similac as well(alimentum wasnt affected) but scary none the less. However overacting and posting ridiculous comments will achieve nothing. Take your kid to the dr if you are concerned. Exchange your cans and be done!

    • NO- nonsense

I have an 11 month old who has been sick repeated with gas bloating, diarhea and not wanting to eat. My husband and I have been telling our doctors the powder formula makes him sick for sometime now. We have been treated like we are overprotective or just nuts when we were right the whole time. I have lost work and PTO. switched formaulas various times, you name it to resolve the problem… We have lost sleep, work and had numerous arguments about going to the hospital or doctor but my husband did not want to be treated the same way again… I am happy your baby did not get sick but you obviously have not clue what it has like for others. Keep your nonsense to your self!! Tainted baby food or formula is the worst offense and on a whole other level than any other type of recall!! This has been going on for months and months and should have been recalled sooner!

  • WORRIED MOMMY

  • noneya

  • http://disgusted alma

class action suit?? This is why our world is the way it is today, money is not everything. Now a days people can’t sue fast enough. Even if you do succeed…how much do you think you will actually get? There are millions and millions of people using similac…and which I assume are also thinking this is a get rich with a class action suit scheme…guess again…how much do you think you will actually get? It will have to be divided. Plus, haven’t you ever eaten a bug before…cause I know when I was a kid I ate all sort of freakish things and I’m very healthy. Overreacting is not going to get you anywhere…if you were really concerned you wouldn’t even wait to see if your lot has been recalled, you would of traded them in the second you found out about the recall…because lets face it retailers are the first to find out abou stuff like this so they can take “contaminated” products off there shelves and start providing “good” product.

  • Michael Brandner

A class action was filed in New Orleans, LA. There is good information on BrandnerLawFirm.com, which is the firm who filed the lawsuit. The lawyer filed the suit after finding that his child was eating the contaminated formula since May.

The purpose of the suit is to tighten the safety measures for manufacturing infant formula.
