We have some good news for HTC fans who are interested in picking up a Windows Phone 7 device at launch, as for the first time, a senior HTC exec has confirmed that the first of their WP7 devices will be available next month.
As reported from Pocket-Lint, Mohammad Kais Zribi, the regional director for HTC in Middle East North Africa was speaking in an interview with Gulf-News when he let slip some details about HTC’s upcoming Windows Phone 7 launch.
Not content with laying low after the Desire HD and Desire Z announcements, Zribi revealed that their WP7 devices would be launching in October. Notice how he specifically mentions ‘handsets’, rather than just a single device:
“We will be launching Windows Phone 7 handsets next month and we will be concentrating on Android and Windows segments.”
Furthermore, he also revealed that the company has as many as five more handsets due out by the end of the year. How many of them will run Windows Phone 7 OS remains to be seen though. One of them is definitely the HTC HD7 as detailed in our earlier report here.
