Droid X Android 2.2 Froyo OTA Update: Verizon on Download

By Updated on

Back on September 13th we reported that all rooted Motorola Droid X handsets were able to download the Android 2.2 Froyo update. We can now tell you that Verizon has announced that tomorrow will be the official release for the OTA firmware update.

For those who cannot wait for Big Red to implement the update, then you can do this on your own manually. To do this just got to the system updates section, which is in the settings section of the phones software, from there you will be given instructions.

Those of you who already have the 2.2 Froyo update running on your Droid Incredible will know that you will now be able to enjoy full Adobe Flash Player 10.1 support, faster loading of web pages in the browser, along with other much needed features.

The Android 2.2 update for the Motorola Droid X was promised in late summer, well you cannot get any later, as tomorrow is the last day of summer. Let us know if you have updated your Droid X smartphone yet. For more details on this visit Computer World.
