We knew it was going to be good, but this good? Microsoft has just announced at the Tokyo Game Show that Halo Reach managed to bring in $200 million (USD) on day one alone, breaking all kinds of records in the process.
According to VG247, Halo Reach is now the biggest entertainment product of 2010, although $200m for one day is still not enough to take down Modern Warfare 2’s figure of $310m for one day sales in the UK and US combined.
If you break down the $200m figure per copy, then Microsoft managed to shift around 3.3-3.5 million copies of the game, depending on a ($50-60) price point for the game.
Will Halo Reach be able to compete with Modern Warfare 2 in the sales department though? We’ll have to wait at see – let us know your reaction to this.
