2011 Shelby GT500 Super Snake packs 800 Horsepower

By Daniel Chubb - Sep 16, 2010

When Autoblog tested the 2010 Shelby GT500 Super Snake their opinion was that there was almost too much power. However Carroll Shelby has decided that for it’s 2011 Super Snake 750bhp just didn’t cut it.

So for 2011 the new GT500 Super Snake will be packing up to 800 horsepower, this will make it one of the most powerful Mustangs available. Added to this a 6-speed manual transmission will struggle to get all those ponies on to the tarmac, whilst forged 6 pot calipers and cross drilled brakes will have to try and slow the beast down. The Super Snake package also gives you extras like 20-inch anthracite alloys, an uprated Eibach handling pack, short shift and Borla performance exhaust system. For those that like the show but not so much go, there will be two other flavours, 660bhp and 750bhp.

As if the huge power wasn’t enough to sell it to you, Shelby also offer optional dress up parts, like a unique fibreglass hood inc tie down pins, white stripes and re-designed side scoops. With the Super Snake package coming in at $30.245 minus the cost of buying the car, what price will you put on performance? Check out the link for more pictures, specs and the full press release.
