Nokia Ovi Maps Update: New Beta At Nokia World 2010

By Updated on

It’s not been long since Nokia’s Ovi Maps software became a free option for users, and the update back in May gave faster navigation, more POI, new roads, and a lot more. News is flooding out of Nokia World 2010 today, and following on from the previous expo news – Nokia C6 and C7 update – we have some new details on the next Nokia Ovi Maps update.

The latest Ovi Maps software will be arriving on both the new Symbian^3 family and Symbian^1 touchscreen devices. New improvements will include better social media integration with Facebook, StudiVZ, and RenRen. You will be able to “check-in” where you currently are, and share that information via email, text message, and on social networks.

Symbian^3 users will love the new Gesture control in this latest Ovi Maps update, which lets you pan and swipe or pinch and spread to easily zoom in. Other features include information on real time traffic-flow, speed limit warnings, and visibility for parking. Visit conversations on nokia.com for the full details.

There will be a public open Beta at the end of September 2010. Are you looking forward to trying this latest update? What was in your wish list?
