T-Mobile myTouch HD HSPA+ & video chat – Rivals iPhone 4 & Facetime

It has recently been revealed that the upcoming T-Mobile myTouch HD smartphone will feature HSPA+ connectivity along with a front-facing camera, which can only really mean one thing, video chat functionality.
This video chat functionality will be a huge rival to Facetime for iPhone 4 and the new iPod Touch, and by the looks of things it could be better than Apple‘s offering.
At the moment Facetime requires a WiFi connection for it to work, whereas it looks as if the myTouch HD will feature HSPA+ connectivity for T-Mobile’s 4G network, which should be more than capable of supporting video chat functionality.
For me this is yet another way in which rivals are outdoing Apple’s smartphone offerings, up until 2010 the iPhone has set a high standard which other manufacturers have not been able to keep up with, however it now seems as if AT&T’s network is seriously holding back the iPhone 4, what do you think?
