Due for official launch at the Paris Motor Show next week Hyundai’s i10 has been facelifted, unfortunately instead of acting surprised when the cover comes off we have been able to catch a glimpse of the car after pictures from an event in Seoul were leaked on the internet.
The i10 BlueOn electric car set for launch sometime in 2012 sported the revised exterior styling when these pictures were taken. With styling cues from their new ix35 crossover, the i10 wears a similar headlight and front grille assembly, interior changes have also been made.
Along with the facelift comes changes to the engines with more power being extracted from the 1.2-litre petrol along with improvements in fuel economy. Being dropped from the range the 1.1-litre will be replace by an all new 1.0-litre four cylinder unit. With lower emissions across the range the i10’s powerplants will also meet the Euro 5 CO2 laws.
For the BlueOn an 80bhp electric motor powered by a lithium-ion polymer battery, will propel the eco-friendly car to 62mph in 13.1 seconds, and carry on ( although not much further ) to a top speed of 81mph. Between each charge owners will be able to travel more than 85 miles, and to top up fully takes up to 6 hours.
