
Nokia N8: UK release date and pricing confirmed
By: Gary Johnson | September 8, 2010 | Leave a CommentWe told you yesterday when consumers in the US were going to be getting their hands on the Nokia N8 and today we have the release date and pricing for people in the UK.
Dan Worth of V3 is reporting that the handset will set you back £429 if you want it sim free, and from £35 per month on contract. It will be available on the Nokia Online Shop from the last week of September, which should mean a release date of the 27th.
Starting on October 1st Carphone Warehouse, Phones4u, Tesco, T-Mobile, Three, Virgin Mobile, and Vodafone will all have the device available as well. Some of the handsets features were also confirmed like the ability to record and edit HD video, and a 12-megapixel camera.
General Manager of Nokia UK – Mark Loughran – spoke about the phones features especially the ability to generate and share content. “The Nokia N8 is a great multi-tasker, packed with market leading innovations, which include the best picture and video capability available on a smartphone.”
He went on to say “It’s perfect for creating and sharing great content in high-definition, using HDMI out to connect to your TV as well as hot-USB swap.” The company are hoping this new handset will start improve its share of the smartphone market.
