Since it was revealed that the upcoming 4th generation iPod Touch’s camera takes stills at a resolution of just 1 megapixel we have heard nothing but criticism, therefore we thought we would look at what the camera do, rather than what it can’t do.
Obviously a 1 megapixel camera is not going to take great quality images, especially if you wish to print them out, however the quality should be pretty good for small print outs.
Luckily HP have a guide on their website which shows you how megapixels affect print size, the outcome for the iPod Touch 4G is not great, however better than some would have expected.
According to HP a 1 megapixel camera should take photos will give you ‘Good’ print quality when printed at 5 X 7 (inches), however they also go on to say prints would look ‘better’ at 4 x 6 (inches) and for best results they should be wallet size (passport photo I guess),
You can see a table showing how megapixels affect via the image embedded below. Obviously the 1 megapixel camera is a disappointment however at least there are some uses.
Do you think the 1 megapixel camera is sufficient?
