Kia Recall 86,000 Vehicles: Include Soul, Sorento and More

The Korean automobile manufacturer Kia has recently announced a global recall of 86,000 vehicles, affected models include the Kia Soul, Sorento, Mohave and Cadeza.

The recall caused Kia’s co-chief executive to resign, a breakdown of affected models shows that the 36,00 Kia Souls are affected, also 33,000 Sorentos, 8,900 Cadenzas and 8,000 Mohaves, interestingly the recall does not affect China.

According to CarAdvice the recall is due to a potential fire risk, this is to do with the wiring for their adjustable speaker and lighting system,

Kia suggest that this problem has not resulted in any accidents and is a voluntary recall, if you think you own an affected model you should contact your local dealer or check out their contact pages.

      By "voluntary" recall they must mean one they are not notifying customers about. We have a Kia Soul bought in February (and we LOVE it) but we have heard neither from Kia Motors nor from our local dealer — not through e-mail, snail mail or by phone — despite the fact they have all of those contacts for us. If I hadn't seen the article in the news, I wouldn't know about the recall.

      I am Many from Toronto, I bought KIA Sportage 2009 in Jul2009, So i have only about 18000 KM on it, but since the past two months this vahicle giving me problem every second day, there is check engine light on every day, and this had been shut off in the intersections few times, had been shut off on stop signs and at traffic lights when ever i stop in traffic, many times this is not starting in the morning, all the the time i called roadside assistance to tow it to the dealer from where I bought, almost every week i am lossing my job because of KIA sportage, Some one can advise me plz that what i need to do.

      i have a kia sorento 2008 with noissy motor 6 cyl  since i bought this vehicle problems problems problems unbeleiveble
      very hard to convice those kia dealers with thos problem
