Samsung Galaxy Tab: Rooted before Release
By: Alan Ng | September 6, 2010 | Leave a CommentWho would of guessed that this would happen? The Samsung Galaxy Tab is yet to hit the market, but one source is already claiming that they have successfully rooted the Android 2.2 tablet computer.
As reported from BGR, sera-apps.de is the website which are claiming the feat, although I’m more interested in knowing how they have managed to obtain a Galaxy Tab so early, and spent enough time with it, to perform a root – care to share guys?
According to the website, the root was performed on a prototype device, and the method may not be available once Samsung release their retail version of the Tablet – which will probably end up being the case once Samsung hear of this.
There are more details over at Sera-apps here, although obviously there are no details on how he actually managed to root the device. Let us know your thoughts on this.
