Microsoft Zune HD: New Design Rumored To Battle New iPod Touch

By Updated on

We ae just getting over the hangover from yesterday’s influx of new Apple products, namely the new iPod Touch 4 and Apple TV. But while Apple gloat about their new devices, what have Microsoft been doing? Rumors suggest that they have been secretly plotting a revamp of their very own personal music player.

Strangely enough, we have not heard much from Microsoft lately regarding the Zune HD, and what direction it would be going next. But one thing we can say about it is that it is definitely one of the best digital music players currently on the consumer market.

It looks cool and stylsh, and even the interface and features are sleek along with enough power under the hood to put a big smile on our face. This is a few reasons why we don’t want Microsoft to push the Zune HD aside in the near future, but rumors suggest otherwise with something new on the horizon.

An article over on ZDNet suggests that some sources have told her that a new, remodelled Zune HD is in the works.

While details are scarce, we predict that it would continue in the fashion of Microsoft’s upcoming Windows Phone 7 series while other speculation suggests that an ARM CPU could also be involved.

The new Windows Phone 7 devices are definitely giving out some love to the Zune, and therefore its only certain that we can expect an upgrade in the near future.

Trust me now that the new touch has facetime and HD video recording, the new zune won’t stand a chance unless it comes with 2 cameras and a better app store/marketplace

new zune will come out after windows phone 7 hits market. New zune software will allow video call to Xbox Kinect and WP7 and maybe even PC. It might only be over wifi, but that's still more users than Apple has with iphones and ipod touches. New zune will also be based off WP7 so it will have it's app store as well which = win

The writing is on the wall.
MS had previously updated the Zune PC software to include phone support.
MS continues to push random apps to the Zune (HD) marketplace.
MS has stated Windows Phone 7 will sync media with Zune software on PC.
It is obvious, some/a lot of new apps will be available for both Windows Phone 7 AND Zune HD.
