The official announcement from Treyarch has not even begun, and already details have been leaked about the new eagerly anticipated CoD game Black Ops. This includes the entirely new Wager Match game mode, where you can find exclusive details about here.
Wager matches are all about putting down a bet, and then getting yourself in a random draw, just like a lottery ball to see what type of match you will end up in.
Of course, to put down a bet, you need cash that can be earned from all types of new multiplayer matches that have been introduced in Black Ops. You can find out more about this in a previous post.
The matches that you get randomly placed in are either One in a Chamber, Sharpshooter, Sticks and Stones and Gun Game.
One in a Chamber – This match will be very interesting, and will test the pure skill of even the best CoD players. You each start with one bullet, and a knife. For every kill, you get an extra bullet that you can hunt your next enemy down with. if you miss, you will only have the knife to which you can try and use to devastating effect. Get up and close with your enimies.
Sharpshooter – A fairly basic but intuitive mode to get into. Each player is given a weapon at random, therefore one player could get a severly overpowered weapon, whereas someone else could be scraping the barrell.
Sticks and Stones – Just like the poem “sticks and stones make brake my bones, but Tomahawks will never kill me,” or something like that. Idea of the game is this, you start with a crossbow and a ballistic knife. Both when used will register as kills, but if you use the Tomahawk, you kill the player, but it does not register.
Gun Game – Seasoned CoD players might be aware of this game type already, as it was once a mod for Call of Duty 4. Either way, in Gun Game, players try and take down players with 20 different weapons on offer, but one of the major differences of Gun Game is that if you are cunning enough to take down an enemy player with the knife, they move down a level.
On a whole, Call of Duty: Black Ops seems to be everything it was made out to be and more. I can’t remember the last time a game sounded so serious, but so fun at the same time. I can tell a lot of CoD fans will have hours, months and even years of fun when this finally hits shelves in November.
Question is, how do you feel about Wager Mode? Infact, how do you feel about Call of Duty: Black Ops as a whole? We would love to hear your feedback.
