Today Apple has announced iTunes 10, there are quite a few notable changes, including a new logo and a music centric social network that they call Ping.
The new iTunes logo does not feature the CD image we are used to seeing, instead it has simplified and refined look, and I must say I am a fan of it, you can see the new logo in this post’s thumbnail image, functionality wise things don’t seem to have changed too much, therefore we will have to keep you posted.
More exciting is Apple’s answer to a music-centric social network, this is called Ping and allows you to follow people and to be followed, this means that music artists can create a following (like on MySpace), perhaps more exciting is the fact you can establish a circle of friends and custom song album charts, this should all help you discover new music, and perhaps help people discover you.
The Ping social network will be integrated into iTunes 10, therefore many expect Ping to take on the likes of Spotify, Last.fm and MySpace, perhaps it could even adapt into a Facebook competitor, what do you think?
As iTunes 10 and Ping were only announced a few hours ago details are scarce, therefore we will have to keep you informed, for more information check out the source link below.
Will you use Ping?
