Verizon HTC EVO / Nexus One Merge: First Specs and Pictures

By Updated on

We have some breaking news to bring to Verizon customer now, as some high quality images of an unknown and unannounced handset have popped up on the internet. We don’t know what the handset is called yet, but it definitely looks super sexy.

The images come to us courtesy of BGR, who have obtained them via their unnamed source. The device in question is a sort-of merge between the HTC EVO 4G on Sprint, and the Google Nexus One – which is obviously a great thing since they are both awesome looking handsets.

The handset is coated in an aluminium plating as seen on the Nexus One and BGR has also given us the first specs of the device. They include a 4.3-inch display screen, 8 megapixel camera as seen on the back of the device, dual-LED flash, a front-facing camera – yes!, kickstand and 3.5mm audio jack.

We’re not sure about you, but we are super excited about this device. When will it be given an official name though? Hopefully we’ll be able to bring you more details on the handset soon. Let us know your initial impressions of it.

Gay, looks like an evo rip off. Looks like Sprint will be wathcing this closely. Pretty sad when a company has to copy another company in order to pull in customers. reminds me of the eagle talon and mitsubishi eclipse. It’s whatever though, looks like they at least tucked the camera back in.

you realize they are both HTC. So it's NOTHING like the Eagle Talon and Mitsubishi Eclipse… It's no different than Blackberry making a Curve for AT&T and Verizon.

???????? both this and the evo are made both by htc.

Excuse me while I whip this out…

      Eagle Talon = Mitsubishi Eclipse
Same car, same factory, same assembly line.

"The Eagle Talon was one of three model names given to a sports coupe that was manufactured between 1989 and 1999 and sold by the then Chrysler Corporation and Mitsubishi Motors of Japan in a joint 50/50 corporate venture known as Diamond-Star Motors (DSM). " – wikipedia.com

Verizon is not copying sprint. HTC designed the phone not verizon.

The EVO 4G = Mustang GT
The HTC MERGE= Mustang Shelby GT 500

They both look the same but one has better styling cues but what it's important better features they mustang has a powerful 5.0 motor. The shelby has more powerful 5.4 motor plus supercharger. HTC Merge has that touch of more style that can be argued worse or better than the EVO 4G. If HTC Merge gets those 1.3 or 1.5 ghz processors that may even duel core. That can record and play in 1080 with better battery life. Then I rather go with the HTC even if it gets the standard 1ghz processors. The phone will be still in step or will be the future.
