So far this year smartphone manufacturers have stunned us with their impressive offerings, however there is still a lot more to come, therefore we thought we would look at some of the smartphones we expect to see launch in Q4 2010.
Let’s start with the obvious, the white iPhone 4 has been delayed time and time again, many suspect that the white iPhone 4 will have new hardware within that will correct the signal-related problems, however Apple has not confirmed this. At the moment we are unsure of an official release date, however previous articles suggest that it may arrive in late September.
The HTC Desire has undoubtedly been one of the success stories of 2010, therefore it is unsurprising to hear that HTC are release two variants, these are the HTC Desire HD and the HTC Desire Z. The HTC Desire HD is similar to the original Desire, however it features a much larger 4.3 inch display and an 8 megapixel camera.
The Desire Z is still currently a mystery, specs aren’t clear, however it will definitely have a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and will run Android. Release date details are unknown at the moment, however if you check out our earlier article you will see that experts believe both smartphones will be officially announced at a HTC press event on September 15th, this suggests that a Q4 2010 release is likely.
In Q4 2010 Microsoft are scheduled to launch Windows Phone 7, HTC has already revealed that they will be backing this OS, and we know that they are planning to release the HTC Gold in Q4 and the HTC Schubert at a similar time.
Nokia doesn’t seem to be doing too much in the high-end smartphone market, however it is thought that they will soon officially announce the Nokia N9, this could perhaps mean that a Q4 2010 release is likely, which will be great for consumers who want to get their hands on Nokia’s new Meego OS.
I am sure that Motorola, RIM and Samsung will have more to offer before the year is out, however at the moment we have nothing to go by except extremely vague rumors, when we do hear more we will keep you posted.
Are you looking forward to a smartphone arriving in Q4 2010 not mentioned in this post? If so, feel free to let us know what you are waiting for in the comments section.
