HTC Droid Incredible: Android 2.2 Froyo Update – New Release Date?

We know that there are a lot of frustrated Droid Incredible owners out there, who are still waiting for the official Android 2.2 Froyo update from Verizon. We have heard of a new rumored release date for the update, but the question is – do you believe it this time?

As reported from Phandroid, there is no official indication whatsoever that the date is real, but there is always a chance that it could be, so it is worth sharing with you.

The new date that is now doing the works is September 1st – according to a new report from Droid-Life. They add that Verizon will be using their various marketing skills to tout the update nearer the time, but if the date is true – it is less than one week away so what are you waiting for Verizon?

So for Droid Incredible owners, it is not worth getting your hopes up on this, but you can always keep a finger crossed. September 1st – Will it finally happen?

      Is rumored news better than no news? Why is it that every little twitch in someone’s rumor mill about a Droid update has to be blogged about? Should we enact a new law that says first Blogger to spew the rumor gets a knuckle removed, if the rumor isn’t right. If it is right, I think we should just beat them about the face and neck until they promise to never again promote unsubstantiated news to those of us who want our update, but do not want to chance flashing the radio to get it.

      I sure hope this is true though. :)

      Hell Yes!

      Another rumor… I’m going to quit my job and wait by the computer for the update or go camp outside the Verizon corporate headquarters to punish them if this rumor isn’t true. You are so right… it is worth sharing unconfirmed rumors just in case it happens to work out so it looks like your site is worth looking at.

      Nope, its real…my Incredible is updating to 2.2 as we speak!

      just got the droid 2.2 update for my incredible a few minutes ago. see Verizon added a few moreapps with the update. my Verizon, flashlight, vs navigation…why in the world would I pay for there navigation when we have Google? update takes about 10 minutes.
