Red Dead Redemption: Did you get banned on Xbox 360, PS3?

Today is the day of reckoning for some Red Dead Redemption owners, as we can confirm that Rockstar will be handing out permanent multiplayer bans for anyone caught using hacked game saves.

As reported from Eurogamer, bans apply for both the Playstation Network and Xbox Live, as Rockstar are staying true to their word after previous warnings. Here is what they had to say on the matter:

“Starting on Tuesday 24th August we will be swiftly and indefinitely banishing from the world of Red Dead Redemption multiplayer all Gamertags and PSN IDs we’ve detected with hacked game saves.”

The question is though – have you been banned already? It is worth pointing out that if you did cheat in the past, you can still be redeemed if you delete your hacked game saves, otherwise Rockstar will do it for you – permanently.

yep i got banned for 7 days for using a hacked gamesave. i have deleted all my stuff to do with red dead and started again.

I don't mind modding at all, in fact in many ways it's fun and teaches you how things inside the game work! I don't however feel this way for the people that Hack public matches or leaderboards theres no point to it besides ruining other peoples fun and work. Mods for clothing or weapon colors ext i don't mind not that big of a deal after all it's just a silly badge it doesn't effect the players powers at all…

rockstar only looks at ur rank/level nd sees if ur on the leaderboards or not… thts how u get banned… so delete ur modded files nd start fresh nd u should b fine!

I've been banned since they started banning people, One of my friends modded longer and more than me, and he got unbanned… -.- Thanks Rockstar…

It's annoying that this wasnt posted on the game menu in the bit where it tells us if stuff is coming out because some people wont know if there is a ban hammer, and if some people werent playing at all and wasnt playing it in the period that they had time to delete it they get banned forever. So annoying that i've bought all the content for gta 4 and red dead redemption and they treat people like this. All it is is a number on a board, if you didnt hack it you can just think that your a good player and not winge about not being in some place and a boaed
