Motorola Droid Pro: Same as GSM Droid 2?

By Alan Ng - Aug 20, 2010

You may remember our article a few days ago, which gave you the first details on the Motorola Droid Pro, which was leaked via a fresh Verizon roadmap which also revealed a few other handsets in the pipeline.

According to this Engadget report though, it has been revealed that the Motorola Droid Pro, may actually turn out to be the same handset as the Motorola Droid 2 World Edition – apparently due out in a few weeks time.

If you didn’t know already, the WE of the Droid 2 is essentially the same handset, but with support for a GSM SIM card for global markets.

Interestingly, Engadget has since updated their article to inform us that a recent Verizon inventory is still showing the Droid Pro and Droid 2 World Edition as two separate handsets, as identified by their model numbers – A956 and A957 respectively.

What are your thoughts on this? Would you be disappointed if the Droid Pro turns out to be the Droid 2 in disguise?

Dual network feature is one I really want, although it would be better if it is dual GSM. However, the keyboard will turn me off. It is too thick with a keyboard.
