Dell Streak: Next Update will be Android 2.2 Froyo
By: Alan Ng | August 16, 2010 | 12 CommentsWe have some more details on the Dell Streak smartphone/tablet device now, as it has been reported that Dell are planning to upgrade the device straight to Android 2.2 Froyo, skipping the update to Android 2.1 Eclair.
If you didn’t already know, the Dell Streak currently ships with Android 1.6, meaning that the device is starved of a few features which are now present on devices such as the Motorola Droid 2 and HTC EVO.
As Engadget reports, the Dell Streak is now available to buy, either on contract with AT&T, or unlocked for $549 – although the Streak will still be SIM-locked to AT&T.
For those of you who already have one, this is good news as Froyo may come sooner than you think. Let us know your thoughts on this.
