Motorola Droid 2: Verizon’s Promotional Video

By Jamie Pert - Aug 11, 2010

Excited about the Motorola Droid 2 launch tomorrow? If so you may not be able to control yourself when you watch the official Motorola Droid 2 preview video which Verizon has released.

There are no real surprises in the video, however it does confirm what we already know, such as the fact that it will launch with Android 2.2 and Flash 10.1 and the fact that it has a maximum storage capacity of 40GB.

The video also confirm’s its WiFi hotspot capability and can browse the web 40% faster than the original Motorola Droid, which is very impressive.

In the video it mentions how clever the Droid 2 really is, it recognizes touch controls, voice controls, QWERTY keyboard text input and Swype.

If you are security conscious you will be happy to hear that the Droid 2 supports remote wipe, therefore if your Droid 2 is lost or stolen you can remotely wipe any personal data.

The Android 2.2 operating system cleverly integrates your messages and social networking in an easy to one easy to view interface, which is not revolutionary but useful none-the-less.

All in all it is hard to ignore the Motorola Droid 2, it seems as if it ticks all of the boxes, let’s just hope the launch is a successful one.

Any word on whether or not the security problem that exists on the droid x exists on the droid 2 as well….think it was related to MotoBlur. (Not being able to "really" delete text messages).
