On June 4th Sprint launched the world’s first-ever 4G smartphone, the HTC EVO 4G, we are now hearing that an update to Android 2.2 FroYo could be arriving tomorrow (30th July).
We don’t know how genuine this rumor is, however it is backed up by a legitimate looking internal document from Sprint, you can see this document here.
This document basically says that the update should launch tomorrow via an over-the-air update, when your smartphone begins downloading the update you will be able to use it, however you will not be able to use it once installation begins.
The update should bring faster web browsing, increased battery life and all of the usual bug fixes etc, that’s not all, we can also confirm that there will be new preloaded widgets, better quality video capture and a flashlight mode for the camera’s LED flash.
For now don’t take this information too seriously, however I wouldn’t be surprised if the update begins hitting Sprint customers tomorrow.
