Gran Turismo 5: Comic-Con Gameplay Video

By Posted 24 Jul 2010, 14:06

If you were to put together a list of some of the most eagerly anticipated upcoming video games due for release in 2010 I’m sure that Gran Turismo 5 would certainly feature in the top five or ten, therefore it is almost a certainty that a gameplay video from the ongoing SDCC 10 event will go down well with our readers.

Well, if you scroll down you can see just this, the video quality isn’t great, however the smooth gameplay at least shows that Gran Turismo 5 looks pretty much finalized.

Some critics are shocked to see no damage in this video, for a long time now Sony has stated that Gran Turismo 5 will feature a damage model, however there are a few small crashes in the video, which result in no obvious damage.

It could be that the demo being played at this year’s Comic-Con doesn’t have the damage model because it is still under-development, however I find this strange considering the game is just three months away.

What do you make of the video? Are you shocked to see no damage?

Is it just me or does the car look like its driving on butter? slipping around in a straight line… sense of speed seems a little off too, for a game thats taken so long to be released still looks a long way from 100% complete, they're going to have to pull their fingers out in the next few weeks before they start printing copies

That is the drivers error (slipping on straights) and maybe they have the internal damage on. The sense of speed is spot on look out the side mirror. This is not the most up to date version of the game.

The damage system is an option to be turned on or off from their last spec. For the demo, maybe, they wanted to show eye candy for the masses.

From what I've seen, those are drving errors by the driver, braking all in the wrong spot and driving like "Need for Speed" mentality.
