If you are looking to buy a 21.5-inch Apple iMac you may be slightly put off by the fact that you can only choose from Intel Core 2 Duo processors, however it looks as if this is all about to change.
At the moment an iMac running a 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo will set you back at least $1,199.00 (from the Apple Store), however if this is not fast enough for you there is an upgrade option 3.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, however for this relatively small jump in performance it will set you back an extra $200.
A recent article posted on Engadget suggests that Apple-authorized resellers believe that a refresh is imminent, if this is accurate it is more than likely that 21.5-inch models will run a Core i3 processor as standard, perhaps with optional upgrades to the 2.66GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 processor or the 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7.
As this is currently still a rumor don’t take it too seriously, however if you were toying with the idea of buying a 21.5 iMac perhaps you should wait a while.
