Qualcomm Q3 2010 Results: Impressive Thanks to Snapdragon

These days a high-percentage of high-end smartphones use a variant of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors, therefore it is no surprise to hear that Qualcomm have some pretty impressive results for Q3 2010.

Apparently in the last 3 months chip sales have risen up to 103 million, this shows a 10% growth when compared to last year’s Q3 results and an 11% increase when compared Q2 1010. Profit this quarter is up to $767 million, which when compared to last year’s $737 million shows impressive growth.

The first MID to use the 1 GHz Snapdragon processor was the Toshiba’s TG01 smartphone, since then we have seen many different high end devices use variants of the Snapdragon processor, devices include the HTC HD2, Google Nexus One, LG eXpo, HTC Desire, Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10, HTC Incredible, HTC EVO 4G and the Dell Streak.

With such a high percentage of high-end smartphones opting for a Qualcomm chip you can’t help but think next years Q3 results will be even better, especially with 1.3GHz and 1.5GHz devices arriving pretty soon.
