A great new free app has just been launched which allows users to easily check the safety and type of every food additive, and get detailed descriptions and possible side effects. E Food Check 1.0 is available for owners in the US of the iPhone, and iPod Touch.
Released by Development Company Sarsoft the application allows users to search for every food additive by code or the name that is written on food labels. Users can use the full text search option to find additives by name. Thanks to the E-Calculator option users can decode the numbers sometimes used to label additives, the correct additive is found in seconds.
Every additive is rated with 1 being good through to 5 which is dangerous, and also contains information such as dietary restrictions, maximum daily intake, recommendations for religious groups, vegetarians and vegans. Over 500 additives are covered, and English, Spanish, French and German are among the languages supported.
E Food Check 1.0 is ad sponsored so is available free of charge on the App Store in the U.S. only. Requires iPhone or iPod Touch with OS 4.0 or later.
