Motorola Droid 2: Android 2.2 Froyo Release Confirmed on Verizon?

By Alan Ng - Jul 20, 2010

We have some exciting news for those of you planning to pick up a Motorola Droid 2 handset on Verizon next month, as a fresh screenshot has seemingly confirmed that the device will ship with Android 2.2 Froyo out of the box!

According to this report from BGR, the screenshot has been provided by Droid-Life, a site that is usually very reliable when it comes to leaked information.

The image below shows a prototype Droid 2 model which has been acquired, and the menu you can see just so happens to be the Droid 2’s settings page. As you can see, it clearly displays 2.2 as the Android Version, and it also carries a baseband version of BP_C_01.09.04P.

Is this the real thing you ask? – It certainly looks that way. BGR also confirm the 1Ghz processor, as well as an improved keyboard. If this doesn’t get you excited, I’m not sure what will!
