Samsung Captivate: Released on AT&T – Specs and Price Recap

For those of you who have been keeping a close eye on the AT&T version of the Samsung Galaxy S, we’re pleased to confirm that the Samsung Captivate is now available to buy, both in-store and online.

As reported from BGR, the Captivate packs some impressive specs, and that 1Ghz processor alone might be enough to persuade you away from the iPhone 4.

Main specs include a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, 720p HD video recording, 5 Megapixel Camera, Bluetooth 3.0, 16GB Internal Memory and MicroSD support.

As for prices, you’ll be able to get one for $199 on a two-year deal with AT&T. For those that are not interested in commiting to a long deal with AT&T, you can also pay a one-off fee of $499 for the Captivate.

The second android phone from ATT and it's running android 2.1! Unlike the Motorola Backflip! (which is the phone I own) I still have hope that android 2.1 will get released on the backflip, if not, I am definitely getting myself a Samsung Captivate!

Got mine yesterday, very nice phone, pretty snappy response, some oddities, but the screen is very awesome. I am very happy so far.
