A new app which attempts to draw people’s attention to water contamination in the World’s Oceans has been released for owners of the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. Plug the BP Oil Spill 1.0 gives the user the possibility to stop an oil leak in the ocean with a touch of the finger.
Released by New York based Elite Gudz the app has users imagining they are disruptors of flora and fauna on the ocean floor or life savers. Simple tapping of the leak and the user stops an oil spill in the ocean, but left untouched the imaginary scope of a spill and tips highlighting possible consequences of an oil disaster appear.
Sounds of the oceans wildlife and other sound effects make the experience even more rewarding. The app is suitable for all age groups to enjoy, and a link is provided for users to donate to the consequences and victims of oil disaster.
Plug the BP Oil Spill 1.0 is free on the App Store. iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad compatible with OS 3.0 or later. Click here to go to the National Wildlife Federation oil spill page.
