iPhone 4 Unlocked (US): Release details and Video Proof

We have some exciting news for some iPhone 4 users out there, as we can confirm that the iPhone 4 has finally been unlocked. We have a video to show you giving proof, as well as details on when it will be available for public release.

According to this report from RedmondPie, the unlock has been accomplished by ‘PlanetBeing’ and ‘MuscleNerd’ – two members of the iPhone Dev Team. Here is a statement from one of the members letting everyone know the moment iOS 4 was unlocked:

”Looks like I now have an unlocked iPhone 4. My soft-unlocked iPhone 4 (in Canada). I’ll have video in a couple of hours once I can top-up the SIM. http://twitpic.com/24ycdv”

They have since provided us with a video, showing proof of the unlock in progress. The good news is that a public release should be available soon – once the team has ‘cleaned’ up the unlock. Watch the video and let us know your thoughts on this.
