Apple’s iPhone 4 Options: Lose-lose scenario
By: Peter Chubb | July 14, 2010 | 1 CommentApple has certainly got itself into a situation that could become a PR disaster, which is all to do with the antenna issue on the iPhone 4. The phone has now been on the market for three weeks and since then there have been a huge number of complaints over the loss of signal.
Apple has not helped matters by keeping its customers in the dark, we are all used to Apple keeping things close to their chest – but just ignoring the situation seems stupid. So what options does Apple have? Either choice they have will be a Lose-lose scenario for them that’s according to JR Raphael from PC World.
The first option open to Apple is by admitting that there is a problem with the fourth-generation iPhone’s antenna. However, if they do this then they are admitting that they lied a few weeks back. This is something that Steve Jobs will find hard to do.
The other choice is for Apple to just ignore the issue as well as the recent Consumers Reports, and hope that the whole problem will go away. This could happen in one of two ways, AT&T will increase their signal or Apple will offer an update to iOS 4 – if it will solve it that is.
Either way, Apple is in a catch 22.
