PS3 Firmware Update: 3D Blu-ray and Photo Support coming soon

The PS3 console has only been updated recently to include 3D game support with firmware v3.40, but we have some details now on a few more firmware updates that Sony has planned in the next few months.
According to this report from TheSixthAxis, Sony has not one but two more firmware updates planned for release in September and October.
The first will include support for 3D Blu-ray movie playback, which most of you probably already know about, but the additional update in October will bring support for 3D photos, via the release of a few brand new Cybershot cameras capable of producing 3D panoramic images.
It seems perfect sense to us that Sony will want to create a 3D media hub for customers who plan to pick up the new 3D cameras, so what better way than to use the PS3 console with it’s now 3D capabilities.
Hopefully we’ll have more details on the future updates soon, but it is certainly something to look forward to.
