Samsung Intercept: Release Date Details Confirmed By Sprint

By Updated on

Consumers who are looking forward to the release proper of the Samsung Intercept, then we can clarify that Sprint have confirmed a release on July 11, just as the rumors suggested.

A few days ago, we found a video preview of the device from someone who was lucky enough to pick one up early from his local Best Buy at $100. But Sprint are selling the Intercept (the Moment successor) at $99 on a two year contract.

The specs are quite a marginal difference from the Moment. The Intercept comes with Android 2.1, a 3.2 megapixel camera (same as the Moment), 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, a 3.2” touchscreen and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

It seems as though the Intercept has not shed much new skin compared to its predecessor, if only the most noticeable feature is the increase in screen resolution from 320 x 480 to 800 x 480, but even in the release Sprint did not mention this as a huge reason to upgrade.

If you want to see the Intercept in action, take a look at this video. Will you be upgrading to the Intercept?
