Google finally uncovered the lid on Google Voice last month after the application was first released as invitation only, but since a recent leak showed a desktop version of the application, fans of the service have started a petition demanding that they release the app to the public.
Google Voice was released by the search giant as a free service which lets users combine phone numbers such as personal, work, home and mobile into one number, so if you receive a call, you can take it from any phone of your choice.
The petition states “We have asked, begged, and pleaded for a desktop VoIP application…This petition is brought forth to show you the overwhelming demand for such an application,” which can be found at GiveUsVDeskop.com. The petition has had more that 2,400 signatures and aims to reach the 500,000 mark.
