Toyota Lexus recall update and list of U.S. vehicles
By: Gary Johnson | July 5, 2010 | Leave a CommentWe recently reported about Toyota’s latest vehicle recall, today the company’s share price remained flat following the news that it had already recalled 91,903 Crown and Lexus models in Japan. The recall will eventually reach 270,000 models across the world.
In an article by Surojit Chatterjee of Ibtimes.com it is stated that in the US 138,000 vehicles will be involved in the recall, with Canada having 4,000, 10,000 in the Middle East, 15,000 in Europe (around 3,200 in the UK), 6,000 in China, and with 8,000 in other regions making up the total.
The problem with the models is a faulty valve in the engine that in the worse cases make the engine stall all of a sudden. Toyota has said they will contact customers personally about the recall via telephone or direct mail.
No accidents have been caused by the problem so far, but the company has received about 200 hundred complaints concerning the fault. For a full list of the models affected in the US please click here.
