VW Bluesport given the all clear

By Daniel Chubb - Jul 1, 2010

According to a report from AutoExpress, VW has given the go ahead to produce their Bluesport roadster. With rumoured tensions between the VW,Audi and Porsche brands, it is still unknown who will have it on their production line.

There isn’t a lot of information about the soft top, but as you can see from the pictures the new face of VW,s Polo and Golf adorn the front, with sleeker headlights and a revised grille. Reports say that it will be available with a 2.0-liter 178 hp turbo-diesel lump as standard, with the option of a twin-charged 1.4 liter petrol, as found in the Polo GTI. To back up the petrol versions the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine from the Golf GTI will also be available.

Speculation is rife as to whether the Bluesport will actually go into production, so we will keep our ears to the ground and hopefully be able to report on its confirmed release date. In the mean time check out the link below to see more pictures.
