Google Chrome 5.0.376.86: Adobe Flash Now Integrated

In early April we revealed that Google were planning to integrate Adobe Flash into their popular Google Chrome web browser, now just under two months later they have fulfilled their promise.

Yesterday Google released a new version of Chrome, this version (5.0.376.86) brings the Flash plugin to the browser, without the need of manually installing it. The update also fixed five security bugs, which should help Chrome maintain its ultra-secure reputation.

The integration of Flash almost seems like an obvious dig at Apple’s choice not to support Flash in iOS (iPhone OS), Apple are backing HTML5 instead as it is an open alternative to Flash, which Apple believe will offer far more benefits including less power consumption and security advantages (you can find out more benefits here).
