The upcoming Chevrolet Volt is a vehicle that offers much more interaction for the driver, so the carmaker has turned to their friends at Microsoft for its promotion. The Chevy Volt will be promoted on the new Kinect for the Xbox 360, in what is said to be the first multiscreen advertising campaign of its kind.
Suzanne Ashe from Cnet News explains that during the 2010 Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival, a number of demonstrations were made to show the new ways where brands such as Chevrolet and Microsoft are able to connect with consumers.
These new ways include using touch gestures with smartphones, TVs, computers and the new Kinect device for the Xbox 360. We have seen how this new device is able to control movements on the TV screen just with the motion of your body – the possibilities of this for advertisers are endless.
The new Chevrolet Volt – an all-electric vehicle – will begin its promotion event in the fall, so you had best make sure you are available for a test-drive. You will also get the chance to see the Microsoft Kinect in action.
