Following on from our earlier post, which gave you official details regarding the Motorola Droid X handset, we now have some information on the future update to Android 2.2 Froyo.
Many of you might have been surprised to hear that the Droid X won’t be coming with Android 2.2 out of the box, but Google and Motorola were quick to reassure fans that Froyo will be pushed out to the handset as soon as possible.
They have confirmed that the update will be available sometime later this Summer, but failed to give an exact release date for the Droid X. Google’s Andy Rubin had this to say on Froyo: “We just open-sourced it today. That’s when everybody says, ‘Go!’. That just happened today.”
Does this mean that Froyo will be available on the Droid X sometime in August? – we really hope so. Let us know your thoughts on this – Are you disappointed or not?
