E3 2010 is now behind us and while there Microsoft showcased their Kinect for the Xbox 360. However, in all that time they failed to mention the price for the device – although the price states on the Microsoft site that the motion-sensing device will cost $149.99, which we discussed in a recent post.
A spokesperson for Microsoft has since stated that this price is an estimate only and is subject to change – that’s according to Jared Newman from Technologizer, whose article appears on PC World. Newman said that Matt Peckham said that maybe Microsoft was forced into putting this price on their website – then they could drop the price just before launch.
There are a number of reasons as to why the Xbox 360 maker decided to offer a price during E3 2010; one of those was that they just have not worked out how much to sell it for yet.
It is no secret that $150 is expensive, although there are some like Newman who disagree. I fear that Microsoft will stick with its price, as consumers would have already got used to the idea that will be paying said price.
