Back in 2003 Adobe brought Cool Edit Pro v2.1 from Syntrillium Software for $16.5 million, soon after they renamed it Adobe Audition, this went on to become a very popular professional audio program for Windows-based computers, we are now hearing that it is coming to Mac.
It is thought that the Adobe will launch a beta version of Audition by the end of the year, the proper release date will heavily depend on the feedback they get from the Mac community.
If you are interested in the Mac release of Adobe Audition you can sign up to be notified when the beta is available, to do this check out this link, here you can also see some preview videos of the software.
Full details regarding the release have no been confirmed, however we have heard that you must be running an Intel-based Mac with at least Mac OS X 10.5.
Currently Windows-based versions of Adobe Audition 3 will set you back $349, however if you have a previous version of Audition an upgrade will cost $99. We would imagine that the Mac version will be similarly priced, however this is currently unconfirmed.
