Nokia vs Apple: Chart Shows Huge Change in 10 Years

If you were buying a mobile phone ten years ago you probably would have found it hard to choose a handset other than a Nokia, however over the last ten years huge competition has risen drastically, which has pretty much seen Nokia and Apple switch roles.
According to a recent chart posted on Bloomberg Nokia have seen a vast decline in sales during this period, roughly ten years ago Nokia were 14 times the size of Apple, however today they are just an eight of the size of Apple.
Obviously Apple’s growth has been massive in the last ten years, therefore it is unsurprising to hear that Apple $247 billion market value has swamped Nokia, however I can’t help feeling that Nokia could have done a lot more over the years to increase sales.
It seems as if Nokia are putting all of their eggs in one basket with the Nokia N8, however to me it seems obvious that this will not be one of the top 10 smartphones available when it is released.
What do you think Nokia need to do to increase their sales?
