First iPhone 4 Delivered: Escapes crashing Apple servers

We knew that people were going to take delivery of their iPhone 4 smartphones one day early, but who would have thought that Apple would make the mistake by allowing a handful of customers to take possession of the device two days sooner than expected?
Darren Murph from Engadget explains that one Mac Rumors user was able to connect his iPhone 4 to iTunes and activate the unit a full two days early – this means that he did not have to suffer the possibility of crashing Apple servers. This could be something that thousands of us will face on Thursday, June 24, 2010.
I have looked and mine has not even shipped yet, I do hope that it arrives on time and that I do not have any issues with activating it. It seems that more and more people have been reporting and sending in their images to Engadget of their new boxed up iPhone 4.
There is not much more we can say on this matter – well unless you want to share with our readers that you too have taken possession of your new fourth-generation iPhone?
